Brentford 3-2 Liverpool

What a shite Saturday night.

I am sure I wasn't the only one going to bed in a mood on Saturday night and waking up in a mood on Sunday morning.

I listened to this game on All Red Video as I don't have TNT Sports.

I know many people may bemoan long ball low block tactics but we really need to get used to it and find a way to win.

It seems we were totally outplayed in this game and deserved to lose.

Teams have identified our weaknesses and are exploiting them way too easily.

Yet again scoring is not our problem. To score two in a game we were second best is still impressive.

Yes decisions went against us again and it is more very fine margins as it has been in all four losses we have had in the league. The fact it has been very fine margins does give me hope that this will turn around very soon.

Having looked at the stats what I do see is that it's crucial in the Premier League this season for us to get the first goal.

The best way to open up teams who play long balls and with low blocks is to score first to force them to play.

In all the four games we have lost we have conceded first and in all the five games we have won we have scored first.

I think this is a crucial statistic right now as it shows scoring first is what we need to do to force more open football, which is when we are more than likely to win.

Kerkez

For all my doubts about this guy this season I must say I loved his celebration so much when he scored. You could see the passion and determination the guy has and it made me smile.

Maybe Arne Slot sees something I don't, as I still believe Robertson should start with Kerkez coming on to make an impact from the bench, for now.

Konate

His form is a huge issue for me now. He was poor again in this game after being brilliant against Manchester United but overall I think he has been a weak link for us in the league this season. I still believe it is due to his contract situation. If you look at the statistics for Trent last season, he had a poor season by his standards and I believe it was because of his contract situation. He was not "all in". I don't think we can afford to do this with Konate and maybe it's time to think about giving Gomez a chance or putting Gravenberch there as I really believe you need players who are giving 100% to the shirt before quality.
